Juan Too Big Perez These Nutz House Music mixtape was released in the summer/fall of 1996. I was still learning how to edit music. I think “These Nutz” is pretty good for being a 13 year old Chicago House Music mixtape. “These Nutz” house music mixtape was made using vinyl 12inch records and you can hear crackles in the sound. DJs now have it made, DJs are spoiled with there lil laptops and free music mp3 downloads, I had to buy records and carry 2-5 crates, 400 records just to mix at a house party and when I traveled through out the country it was a mission, LOL. I would literally drive cross country with turntables, mixer and up to 8 crates of records. I racked up over 245,000 miles on my 1996 Impala SS in less than 2 years just driving to NYC, the east coast, Canada. Texas, Florida and all over the midwest. I loved traveling, meeting people, staying in different cities, hotel room service LOL, different nightclubs and getting my pimp on. I would be away from home for months at a time, back then I would charge $2500 just to DJ live for 30 min, a very rare thing in the 1990s especially for a latino DJ.

What do you get when you mix a Chicago bred south side hip hop artist with Chicago House music? YoungBlaze new track “That Girl Ain’t Cute”. First off YoungBlaze is a genuine hip hop artist you can listen to some of his songs on youngblazesite.com you will hear Chicago in his music a blend of twista, do or die, fast eddie, kanye west but much evolved and improved. His self produced music is very hypnotic with beats that keep you in a higher level of hip hop. This kid is raw. I never met YoungBlaze but spoke with him briefly over the phone a few times and can tell you he is very well grounded in his music and future plans. I highly recommend taken a listen to all of his music especially if your searching for something that will keep you hip hop satisfied. I know this track is somewhat main stream and the Chicago house music feel is what got my attention but on his website he has some sick tracks that deserve attention. If your a DJ I suggest you spin YoungBlaze “That Girl Ain’t Cute,” help out this Chicago independent artist and show him some love. Chicago artist tend to suffer and never make it to the big show unless they move away from Chicago like Kanye West did. We need to support these up and coming artist because they are Chicago’s own and it shows in there music with the unique Chicago music style they give to the music scene. As for everyone else download this song burn a few copies and the next time your at the club take the CD up to the DJ booth.
